Her birth date was March 29, 1985 in Roswell New Mexico. Gerina is the full name of her. Gerina Stevenson, the child of Mexican parentage Rita Stevenson and Alan Stevenson. She is Mexican roots, yet is American by nationality. From a young age the desire for her to be involved in sports was evident. Gerina began to play golf when she was 15 years old. Gerina attended Goddard High School for her high school education. At the age of 16, she was a winner in New Mexico's state golf tournament. Also, she was a volleyball player who competed on the level of state. She went to the University of Texas in 2003. In her final year, she was the winner of every competition she participated in. In her undergraduate seasons, she won the Conference USA's player of the season and UTEP's Female Athletic Champion of the Year.
